KIHASA, Sejong National Library of Korea to Hold Joint Exhibition on Korea's Hundred Years' Journey to Welfare Society

KIHASA is holding an exhibition on "Korea's century-long jounrey to welfare society," at the exhibition hall of the National Library of Korea, Sejong from August 29 to October 21. The exhibition, organized by the National Library of Korea, Sejong and co-hosted by the National Association for Policy Information and KIHASA, is designed to help enhance public understanding of health and welfare by putting on display one hundred years' history of Korea's health and welfare policies with its major events that triggered critical policy developments.

[Exhibition Sections]

'One Hundred Years of Korea's Health and Welfare' introduces major developments in and policies of Korea's health and welfare from before the establishment of the Republic of Korea to today.

'Health and Welfare That Strenghthen Us' explains the need for health insurance, income security, and social care, and explains how Korea's demographics are changing as its population is aging fast.

'Health and Welfare in Comparison in Numbers' compare the ratios of public social spending, trends in elderly populations, child and elderly poverty rates, and life expectancies in selected countries.

'KIHASA Videos' show videos on Korea's social services, infectious disease response, and health and welfare issues including the Korean welfare state.

'Hands-on Experience' provides a variety of activities families and friends can participate, including family poster making, health and welfare terminology quizzes, self-made health and welfare policies.
