Choi:
In fact, "rest" not only revitalizes individuals, but it also restores family relationships, gives people more room to breathe so that they can work more productively, and on a national level, better prepares us for the future. In this way, I believe that rest is the key. It’s disheartening, however, that the outdated mindset of the 1970s - that pushing harder always leads to national progress - still seems too prevalent in our society. The problems that arise from our society’s failure to allow people to rest ultimately weaken both businesses and the nation. While it may be tempting in the short term to say “work another hour,” this approach is like “killing the goose that lays the golden eggs.” I think we need more social dialogue to change this mindset.
Voiceover:
Now is the time for a social consensus on rest.
