As I was organizing my thoughts on this topic, I came up with these diagrams. When we talk about life, one perspective sees it simply as being alive, viewing death as something separate from life. Another perspective, however, sees life and death together as life as a whole.

Of the characteristics of death that we’ve looked at, one that highlights its interconnection with life seems to align with the perspective represented in the diagram on the right. The diagram may be overly simplistic, but it prompted me to reflect on the characteristics and contrasts of life and death.

First, life is something we can’t stop thinking about, not even for a moment―because, as the saying goes, "the show must go on." Death, on the other hand, is something we can shut out of our minds. We can go about our days without thinking about it. But, from time to time, certain moments or triggers bring it to the forefront of our thoughts.
