Regulations complement market principles and have a significant impact on the economy, society, and the environment. Therefore, poorly designed regulations can increase socioeconomic costs and reduce public welfare, making it necessary to establish a performance management system to improve regulations and facilitate the delivery of new services. In this study, we examined the current status of RIA in Korea's health and welfare policies, and conducted a quantitative RIA as a pilot case. Although it has not been widely applied in RIA to date, it is necessary to comprehensively consider current and future costs and benefits, as well as the impact of regulations on generations.
